Emir Of Ilorin At 81: Nigeria Should Continue To Live In Peace
The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has charged Nigerians to continue to live together in peace, harmony and prosperity stressing that such factors are capable of rejuvenating the nation and her people.
This is contained in a goodwill message marking the Emir’s 81st birthday celebrations issued by his Spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona on Thursday.
According to the message, “As a member of the National Traditional Rulers’ Council, member of the Northern Traditional Rulers’ Council, Chairman of the Kwara State Council and Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi among other engagements of national importance, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR today clocks 81 today, Thursday 22nd April 2021.
“He has over the years demonstrated unquantifiable commitments to the growth and development of humanity through quality leadership and dedication to God. His love for his subjects and nation at large knows-no-bound. He has served the nation meritoriously as an incorruptible Justice of the Court of Appeal and later became the the Presiding Justice of the Appeal Court Ibadan division before he voluntarily retired in 1995 to ascend the throne of his forefathers as the 11th Emir of Ilorin.
“Alhaji Sulu-Gambari is one of the highly respected traditional rulers in Nigeria and he has participated in several constitutional conferences due to his vast knowledge and commitments to national unity and cohesion.
“His principles have always being for his subjects to continue to love each other, for Nigeria to remain one indivisible entity and for peace and harmony to continue to reign in the land with abundant wealth and comforts.”
The statement however urged the people of Ilorin Emirate and beyond to continue to support and pray for the monarch in a bid to sustain the peaceful co-existence in Ilorin and Kwara State at large.
