10 YABATECH Students Get Legacy Arts Foundation’s Scholarships

 

Yaba College of Technology has signed a pact with the Legacy Arts Foundation (LAF) to provide sustainable  funding  for young artists development in the institution and Nigeria at large.

The pact centred on scholarships,  provision of working material for awardees through academic terms after which they will have a career launch support of ‘Legacy Arts Foundation Exhibition upon completion of their programs.

In his address at the event, the founder of the Foundation,  Mr. Niyi Adenubi, disclosed that the three most successful students will compete amongst themselves and the awardee that came first would go on a trip within Nigeria and abroad for the advancement of his profession, fully sponsored by the foundation.

Ten students of the college, he said would be awarded with the Legacy Arts Foundation scholarships adding that the foundation is best focused on exploring potential collaboration in the area of boosting the quality of Yabatech graduates.

Dr. Adenubi expressed his optimism about the collaboration, emphasizing its potential to positively impact the art community for years to come.

As part of this exciting collaboration, Dr Adenubi stated that the Foundation will be awarding scholarships to 10 talented art students each year.

This incredible opportunity, he said, will not only provide financial support but also recognition for their artistic achievements.

According to him, “an exhibition will be organized to showcase the exceptional work of the top three students and from this group, one outstanding artist will be chosen as the recipient of the prestigious Legacy Art Foundation Fellowship”.

The Rector, Dr Ibraheem Abdul in his response described the partnership as a welcome innovation which will greatly benefit the students of the College, providing them with invaluable opportunities to showcase their talents and receive support from  renowned foundation.

He was delighted to welcome the Foundation to YABATECH, stating that the institution is focused towards exploring industrial partnerships which will be of great benefit to the Institution.

Dr. Abdul stated, “We at Yabatech are passionate about making sure our students graduate with certifications in one or two skilled trades. Our goal is to ensure that our graduates stand out in the industry as job providers, not just job seekers in line with the college ERECTAgenda.”

To solidify this partnership, both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding, formalizing the partnership and setting the stage for future endeavours.
