Indications have emerged that living would become more meaningful for dwellers in 19 rural communities in Ogun State, as the World Bank-Assisted Communities and Social Development Projects to the communities has delivered 38 micro projects to the communities spread cross six Local Government Area.
The projects which are sectorial in nature were focused on Education, Health, Infrastructure, Power supply and water resources in Abeokuta, the General Manager, Ogun State Communities and Social Development Agency (OGSCDA), Engr. Sakirudeen Salaam said the choice of the projects was determined by the benefitted communities through a democratic norm, following the agency’s laid down guidelines.
Salaam highlighted the micro projects and their locations in the three Senatorial Districts to include equipping Science Laboratories in Maale Comprehensive in School and Igbesa High School respectively, while motorized borehole was provided at Osi Maale in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area
He added that other projects are 18 locked-up shops and 12 open stalls in Sawonjo, Yewa North Local Government Area, while a health center with motorized borehole was provided at Ojuroko, communities in Idiroko, all in Ipokia Local Government Area of the State, among other.
In Ogun Center, Salaam explained that motorized borehole and electrification projects were delivered at Afibunkun Olwua community, Soyoye, a mini-bridge constructed at Sabo and Imole Ayo communities in Abantoko in Abeokuta North and Odade Local Government Area respectively
He added that 27 solar powered street that lights, motorized borehole, electrification projects. Graded road with drainages were culvert and drainages were also provided at Nloku lraye and larufi, llupeje communities at the Ode Remo in Remo North Local Government Area and other in Ogun East.
Salaam hinted that the seed fund was from World bank to assist the needy communities who had expressed interest by paying 10 percents of the total cost of the projects, with the State government providing an enabling environment for the smooth execution.
Also speaking on the projects in his domain, the Alaye Ode Remo, Oba (Surv.) Adetunji Oso appreciated the State Government and CSDA for the gesture, saying the projects had improved living standard of the people in his community.
