Current ASUU Strike Is Unreasonable- Umahi

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has described strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) as unreasonable.
Umahi stated that it is the students, as well as their parents, that are being punished with the strike issues while the lecturers would still get their salaries after the protracted strike action.
Umahi who disclosed this on Wednesday at the New Government house complex Abakaliki, urged the Nigerians to endeavor to waive their rights sometimes for the country to move forward.
“ASUU strike is becoming unreasonable. The parents and children are the ones being punished. Everything is by negotiation. We must try to be reasonable and not to always stick to our guns. We must have to waive some of our rights in this nation for the country to move forward,” Umahi said.
