Train Crushes Beggar To Death In Lagos
There was confusion on Monday in Lagos as a Lagos Bound transit train from Ijoko, Ogun State crushed a beggar to death near the Mushin Railway Station.
According to eye witness account about six beggars sat in row near the railway line as usual but unknown to one of them he sat too close to the railway line leading to his instant death when the Locomotive engine knocked him down on the spot.
It was gathered that other co-beggars took to their heels shouting at top of their voices as other coaches sped past.
It was further learned that the driver of the train did not realize that any mishap happened as the train moved to Yaba after a minute stop over at Muslin railway station.
Speaking on this development Railway District Manager Engineer Jerry Oche said the life of every Nigerian is important.
He was however quick to add that people should endeavour to obey the law, adding that it is against the law to sit down or trade beside the railway line
Oche posited that anybody who has no business entering the train should not be on the platform.
