Six Killed As Trailer Crashes In Lagos
No fewer than six people have lost their lives in an auto crash at Second Rainbow in the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred about 4 pm on Sunday.
An eyewitness narrated to reporters that the incident occurred after a trailer driver lost control of the brakes and crashed into a car and a commercial bus.
“The brake of the trailer failed and it crashed into those two vehicles. They have carried some bodies already about six or seven,” she said.
There were operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Nigeria Police at the scene.
Some people also helped in carrying the injured into vehicles for treatment.
A police source who was actively attending to the situation said she was unable to answer questions at the moment.
She said, “I don’t have a chance now.”
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority confirmed the incident in a post on Sunday via X.
“A multiple accident involving a tanker loaded with oil, two commercial buses, a Honda saloon car and two commercial motorcycles has just occurred at Second Rainbow inward Mile 2.
“#lasambus is on the ground to attend to the casualties involved, and safety measures are being put in place by our men,” the tweet read.
