6,500 Traditional Healers To Undergo Training In Ogun

To standardize the practice of Alternate Medicine in line with the World Health Organizations (WHO) regulations, the Ogun State Government has conclude arrangements to train 6,500 Traditional Healers.
The Chairman, Alternate Medicine Board, Balogun Nurudeen Olaleye, said it because necessary to acquaint them with modern technology that would enhance their profession in tandem with WHO standard.
“Registration and sensitizations training programmers is very essential for all Traditional Healers in the State to clear all from of doubts concerning their practices and immediately after the training, they will be re-licensed with proper monitoring system by the government and that would guarantee their recognition and practice in the state”, Olaleye said.,
He affirmed that, those involved in alternate medicine, either in the Islamic or Christianity way, Traditional Healers, Academia, Alternate Medicine Researchers, Mission and Traditional Birth Attendants are now under the same umbrella in the state, assisting the Board on the implementation and enforcement of alternate medicine laws.
