Senate Rejects Magu As EFCC Chairman
Senate has refused to confirm the appointment of Mr Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman of the Economic and other Financial Crimes Commission based on what it called security reports.
After the screening of the head of the anti-graft body, the Senate said the decision was based on security reports at its disposal the details of which were yet to be made public as at the time of this report.
The decsion of the lawmakers is key to the official confirmation of appointment of Magu who has been acting as EFCC Chairman after the expiration of the tenure of the Ibrahim Lamorde as head of the anti-graft agency since 2011. Lamorde was removed on Monday, November 9, 2015.
