Secondus Slams APC, Says PDP Will Return To Power In 2019

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Prince Uche Secondus, has said that the party will wrest power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) come 2019.

He also assured that the newly inaugurated National Working Committee of the party will conduct transparent primaries for all contestants on the platform of the party across the country.

The PDP chairman spoke on Thursday in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital, while presenting party flags to PDP candidates in the Saturday state local government election rally organized by the state chapter of the party.

He said, “APC is a broken party that makes up a broken government. It has failed the entire citizens of Nigeria. APC is preparing to go. There is hunger in the land. Fayose has done well for the people of the state. The only way to appreciate him and thank God is for you to come out en-mass and vote for the PDP in the election. No amount of conspiracy either from Abuja or Lagos can work. Fayose has done it before and also won in 2014.”

According to him, the party will conduct free, fair and transparent primaries henceforth in the country, for the governorship, senate and the House of Representatives members.

“The primary elections will no longer be ‘I want to buy’ type of election. We will send people of high integrity to every states to conduct primaries. People will be allowed to make their choices and there won’t be any form of influence from the leadership of the party, ” he said.

He told party supporters that the policy direction of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP, is to return power to the people, saying that the people would take power by  deciding themselves without the influence of anybody.

Commenting on Fayose’s government, he said that Ekiti State is lucky to have Fayose as governor, listing the infrastructural development such as the fly over, the new Governor’s Office, High Court complex and many others in the state as laudable achievements.

He however cautioned the ruling APC to stop arresting some stakeholders in the country, adding that the more your arrest them, the more they became popular in the country.

Addressing the crowd at the Matthew Junction, Governor Fayose said that the APC would be disgraced in Ekiti in all elections.
