Police Arrest 30-year-old Man For Killing Father In Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested one Peter Sinamai, 30 years, a resident of Sangere Gombi Local Government Area of the state for killing his father and dumped his corpse in an abandoned well.

In a statement issued on Friday, the command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, stated that the suspect was arrested following a report received by operatives of the command.

Nguroje stated, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly killed his father and disposed his body in a well within their community.”

The state Commissioner of Police, Kabiru  Hassan,  has ordered for a thorough investigation into the matter to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“The corpse has been recovered and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.

“The suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation,” he added.

The CP who condemned the act, reassured the public of the command’s commitment to protect the members of the public and that justice is going be served.

He further urged members of the public to always seek lawful and peaceful means of resolving family disputes and to seek appropriate intervention whenever conflicts arise.

In April, an Anambra State High Court sitting in Awka sentenced Ifeanyi Anizoba Jnr to death by hanging for killing his father, Ifeanyi Anizoba.

The trial judge, Justice Chukwudi Okaa, held that the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt.
