Opinion: Nigerians Don’t Like Us- Police

Fact: some police officers are bad
Fact: some police officers are good
Fact: Officers come from different
backgrounds with different orientation of life
Fact: all officers are human
The fallout of #Endsars protest which was a signpost to many other issues bothering all of us in Nigeria was a very big eye-opener to all reasonable Nigerians and particularly, to all police officers.

Nigerians hate the police more than poisonous snakes 🐍irrespective of how good he/she is.

#Sars represent a very insignificant percentage of Nigeria police personnel but all police officers even the mechanic among us who has never touched a gun in his life were targeted for attack.

Police officers were killed in the most horrible ways you can think of and nobody has said anything about it. Soldiers fired bullets but police were attacked, nothing was wrong about that.

Media outlets did not hide their hatred for the agency they run to when attacked by not captioning any of the police killings by the hoodlums for the whole world to see.

Our educated elites on social media were busy clapping for the hoodlums while killing the police officers. They cheered them on as they burnt the stations. They give the hoodlums the much-needed support to carry out their nefarious activities against the people who are always awake for you to sleep soundly.

The human right groups and activists are silent on the killings because it is against the police and police are not human beings.
Everything abinitio was sensationalised to demoralise the officers and decimate their authority. Accident scenes pictures were used to show police brutality and even scenes from movies to whip up enough sentiment.

OFFICERS SHOULD TRY TO KNOW THEIR PLACE IN NIGERIA AND ACT ACCORDINGLY.
We make friends with them, drink with them, trust them, see them as our good neighbours and even help them in times of needs but they have a different view of us.
