Lille Gets £75m Offer For Liverpool Transfer Target, Osimhen
He showcased his express speed and excellent finishing in the Champions League group stages, including a headed goal against Chelsea.
Now, French outlet, Telefoot, are reporting that a bumper £75 million bid has been tabled for Osimhen’s services, including add-ons.
Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Inter Milan and Chelsea have also been linked with the forward and could rival Liverpool for his signature.
Transfer expert, Duncan Castles, has previously claimed that the Reds have already made contact with Lille over a potential deal for Osimhen.
“The information I have is that Liverpool has been in contact with Lille about their Nigeria centre-forward, Victor Osimhen,” Castles said on Reach Plc’s Transfer Window podcast.
“He’s attracting attention from a lot of clubs and has been fulfilling the potential he showed when he won the Golden Boot at the World Youth Cup a few years ago, scoring 10 goals in that particular tournament in Chile.
“They are open to selling him this summer but only if the market provides them with the right price.
“And they’re very conscious that this may well not be the transfer window to sell a player of his talent. That will factor into their thinking.
“They believe they’ve got a player who is going to turn into one of the top centre-forwards in European football.”
However, United could beat their rivals in the race for Osimhen’s signature after on-loan striker Odion Ighalo revealed he has been advising his compatriot over his future,
“I talk to Osimhen, he’s a very nice boy, young, he’s a good guy,” Ighalo told Elegbete TV. “We talk, not almost every day, but almost every time I advise him.
“He’s the future of Nigerian football. He’s the future, he’s going to do so well in football. I always advise him to keep calm, keep working hard and the guy is going to be a celebrity, you know.”
“I love him, I just want him to keep working hard the way he’s doing, he’s going to break so many records in Europe and Nigeria.”
