Study Tour: NISS Visits NIDCOM, Applauds Dabiri-erewa
  “Globalization and Regional Economic Integration: Implications for
Sustainable Development in Africa”, is the theme for Course 16 Executive
Intelligence Management Participants of the National Institute for
Security Studies, (NISS) as they undertake a study tour of the Nigerians
in Diaspora Commission, (NIDCOM) in Abuja.
National Institute for Security Studies, (NISS), and were received on
behalf of Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora
Commission,  by Dr Sule Yakubu Bassi, Secretary to the Commission.
Dr. Sule Yakubu Bassi,  described the theme of the course as apt and
closely related to the mandate of the Nigerians in Diaspora commission,
NIDCOM.
The Secretary expressed readiness to share with the delegation,
practical knowledge of activities of the commission and how it handles
the affairs of the Global Nigerian Diaspora.
Dr Bassi further said Globalisation has made the world a global village,
shrunk boundaries and facilitated stronger Diaspora connections.
Mr D.E. Egbeji, Deputy Commandant, National Institute for Security
Studies applauded Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa’s dogged commitment and passion
in handling Diaspora Matters especially their Security and welfare and
above all development of their home country, Nigeria.
Mr Egbeji added that the delegation represents a class of 86
participants from across 28 agencies within Nigeria and 5 other
countries in Africa.
The Deputy Commandant expressed his satisfaction with the in-dept and
detailed answers provided by the Secretary noting that the participants
have been well informed.
The participants are expected to tour other agencies, 32 states across
the country, 6 African countries for regional tour, 6 countries across
the globe for world tour with series of lectures in between after which
they will be awarded a Fellow of Security Institute (fsi+).
The course is intended to equip participants with requisite knowledge to
address dynamic and complex security challenges in their respective
countries and foster inter-agency collaboration to ensure adequate
security.
