Nigeria Needs Restructuring Now To Get To Promised Land – Akeredolu

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has said that the debate over restructuring of the country was not necessary, saying it is clear that only restructuring will help the country to attain its deserved greatness.

Speaking at an event in Akure, the state capital, Akeredolu insisted that the country needs a situation where each state would be allowed to tap from, and control it’s resources is needed in the country now.

The governor noted that it would be difficult to merge some areas in the country with one another, hence various agitations for breakup would not stand.

Akeredolu, at the programme tagged ‘Taking Responsibility For Your Generation’ held at the Reconciliation House Ministries, said, “let us have true federalism, so that the state could grow and submit what will enhance the country.

“The nation has remained one and will forever remain one, irrespective of language or ethnic diversity. There is nothing anybody can do about it.”

The governor however, encouraged Nigerians to continue to pray for the country and her leaders.

According to him, when Christians within the political and other sectors embrace morality, fraud would reduce.

In his address, the host, Joshua Adeyemi said issues surrounding the birth of the nation required a rebirth through dialogue.

Adeyemi cautioned those clamouring for a new Nigeria through violence to have a rethink in view of what happened in the country in the late 1960s.
