Mbah, COAS Abubakar, Airforce Meet To Strengthen Security In Enugu

The Governor of Enugu, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, met on Thursday with the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshall Hasan Abubakar, and other security bigwigs in a bid to strengthen security in the state.
Mbah made this known on Friday in a statement on his X handle, where he also said he had the pleasure of receiving other top brass of the Nigerian Air Force in his office.
“We held thoughtful discussions about strengthening security in Enugu State,” the Governor wrote.
He said the Nigerian Air Force has made outstanding contributions to the state’s security and education sectors, for which his administration and the people of Enugu will always be grateful.
Mbah said he is, however, keen to improve peace and security in Enugu state and, by extension, the South-East region.
And to achieve this, he stated that his administration is steadfastly committed to upholding a positive working relationship with the armed forces.
Mbah, in a related development, said that the sit-at-home order declared by the proscribed members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has ceased to be in force in the South-East.
The governor disclosed this on Tuesday upon his working visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
“We no longer have a sit-at-home in Enugu State, and I dare say in the South-East. We have workers go to work on Monday, and the schools are open on Monday,” he said.
“Business and economic activities are back. So, what we are dealing with now is to erase that sad memory from our history.”
