LAUTECH Expels Ex-Osun SSG, Adeoti’s Son Over Misconduct
The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State has expelled four students including the son of the former Secretary to the Osun State government, Moshood Adeoti over misconduct.
It was gathered that the students were expelled over post-students union election violence on June 13, while eight others were placed on suspension.
Adeoti AbdulAfeez, son of the former SSG of the Department of Civil Engineering was one of those expelled.
Other expelled students were Akinloye Oluwatimileyin, department of Pure and Applied Physics; Eze Raymond, department of Management and Accounting; and Dauda Sodiq, department of Chemical Engineering.
According to an official statement signed by the Registrar of the institution, Jacob Agboola, and sent to students’ emails on Wednesday, the university’s Senate at an emergency meeting held Tuesday considered the report and recommendations of the panel set up to investigate the matter.
The Senate approved that those found wanting be suspended or expelled from the university.
The suspended students were: Olalekan Ismail, a student of department of Computer Science and Engineering; Amoo Akeem, department of Transport Management; Azeez Ayobami, department of Biochemistry; Oluwole Opeyemi, department of Pure and Applied Chemistry; and Bankole Oluwaseyi, department of Pure and Applied Physics.
Others include: Abioye Aderemi, department of Anatomy; Atoyebi Adeniran, Pure and Applied Mathematics, and Adewale Sulaiman, department of Anatomy.
Moshood Adeoti had earlier this week dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to contest the September 22 governorship election in Osun State
