Defection: Three APC Governors Meet Ladoja In Ibadan

A former Governor of Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja, hosted three serving governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress on Sunday.

The meeting, which lasted about two hours, held at Ladoja’s residence in Ibadan.

Though details of the meeting were sketchy as of the time of filing this report, it was learnt that the discussion at the meeting was not unconnected with defection.

“They want him to join APC,” an aide to one of the politicians said.

The governors who met with Ladoja were Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa, Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, and Mai Buni of Yobe.

Others said to be at the meeting were Senator AbdulFatai Buhari, Oloye Sharafadeen Alli and Bimbo Adepoju.

PDP is currently facing crisis over the control of the party structures in Oyo and other states, including at the national level.

Recently, seven members of the PDP National Executive Council resigned from the party.

The seven national officers of the party who resigned included the Deputy National Financial Secretary, the Deputy Legal Adviser, the Deputy National Auditor, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, the Deputy Women Leader and the Deputy Organising Secretary.

Also, one of the Board of Trustees members, Bode George, said he almost resigned from the party recently.

The governor of Cross Rivers, Ben Ayade and that of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, dumped the PDP late May and June respectively.
