2027: Over 10,000 Nigerian Women Rally Behind Tinubu, Vow Nationwide Mobilisation
More than 10,000 Nigerian women have declared their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office, pledging to mobilise voters across senatorial districts, wards and polling units ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The declaration was made in Abuja during the inauguration of the Presidential Women Campaign Council, where women drawn from across the country gathered to demonstrate their support for President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking at the event, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, expressed appreciation to the women for their support, prayers and commitment to the nation. She urged them to return to their respective states and communities to communicate the achievements and vision of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The First Lady said the theme of the gathering, “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity,” reflected the administration’s vision of transitioning from economic reforms to greater prosperity for Nigerians.
She highlighted what she described as key progress recorded by the administration, including efforts to stabilise the economy, support farmers, attract investment and expand access to student loans.
According to her, Nigerian women have a critical role to play in sustaining the gains of the administration and ensuring that the foundation being laid for national development is strengthened.
She therefore called on the women to take the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda to the grassroots and mobilise continued support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
“Nigerian women have spoken. We speak with one voice, and we vote APC again”.
The wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, urged women from the six geopolitical zones to return to their communities and mobilise support for the administration ahead of the 2027 elections, describing the election as a time to pay back.
Also speaking at the ceremony, the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, expressed confidence in the capacity of Nigerian women to drive effective grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.
He commended the First Lady and the women in attendance for their commitment, noting that their involvement would be instrumental to the success of the campaign organisation.
The wives of the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives also pledged to spearhead grassroots mobilisation efforts across the country.
The wife of the Senate President, Ekaette Unoma Akpabio said women would be mobilised across the various senatorial districts, while the wife of the Speaker, Hajiya Fatima Tajudeen Abbas pledged that the mobilisation would extend to wards and polling units.
She assured that women would work at the grassroots to build support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, also highlighted what she described as the achievements of the Renewed Hope administration and its impact on Nigerian women.
She expressed confidence that the administration’s interventions and programmes would encourage women across the country to turn out in large numbers to support President Tinubu’s second-term bid.
Similarly, the APC National Women Leader, Dr. Mary Alile Idele, commended Nigerian women for taking the message of hope, development and transformational leadership to communities across the 774 Local Government Areas.
Women serving in the Renewed Hope Cabinet, including Ministers, Chief Executive Officers and Senior Special Assistants, also expressed their support for the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu re-election, pledging to contribute to the mobilisation efforts.
The wives of APC Governors across the country equally spoke with one voice, calling for massive grassroots mobilisation and support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, adding that women were ready to take the campaign to the states and the six geopolitical zones.
