Foundation Gives 400 JAMB Forms To Indigent Candidates In Badagry
A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Ejalonibu Foundation, on Sunday, gave 400 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to indigent candidates in Badagry Division.
Speaking after the distribution of the forms in Badagry, Mr Ismaila Wusu, the founder of the foundation, said the motive behind the gesture was to support candidates who could not afford it.
He said civilisation started in Badagry but the town was not where it should be in Nigeria.
“So, we believe the only thing that we can use to gain access to where we belong is education.
“The foundation believes that many candidates in Badagry division are willing to go to university but they do not have the fund or support.
“We are providing succour to everyone whether being Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo or Egu, living in Badagry division.
“Once you are a Nigerian citizen, the foundation is ready to support you.
“We intend to give out about 350 forms to interested candidates but since candidates continue coming, we expanded the gesture,” he said.
Wusu said the foundation would offer scholarship to candidates who gained admission to study Medicine and Education courses in the university.
He urged the candidates, who got the forms to study very hard so that the effort would not been in vain.
The founder commended people who had been assisting the foundation to fulfill its objectives to residents of Badagry and Lagos.
In a career-guidance session, Miss Grace Popoola, a graduate of Lagos State University, Ojo, urged the candidates to build relationships with colleagues and lecturers in universities so that they could have a smooth ride.
Popoola advised them not to be lazy in school, adding that they should balance both academic and social life together.
Isiaq Kodir, one of the beneficiaries, promised to study hard to gain admission into university with the opportunity given to him.
He commended the foundation for assisting the candidates to further their education by providing free JAMB forms for them.
