Teenager Jailed For Stealing Phone In Osun
An Osun Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo on Monday sentenced one Henry Mohammed (19) to sixteen months sojourn in Correctional Center without an option of fine for stealing a phone.
The convict when arraigned admitted guilty to the allegation of stealing preferred against him by the police.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Olusegun had told the court that the convict committed the offence on August 22, 2020 at about 5:00pm at Railway line behind First bank, Gbodofon, Osogbo.
He disclosed that the convict did unlawfully entered into a shop and stole one infinix Hot 8 phone valued 37,000 property of one Albert Titilayo
Olusegun explained that the convict went to the complainant shop to buy cloth and after he paid for the cloth he asked Albert Titilayo to bring another cloth for him inside but quickly stole the phone.
Defence counsel, Adepoju Kehinde prayed the court to temper justice with mercy adding that his client was a first offender.
