Hajj 2020: We Are Ready For Any Eventuality- NAHCON
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has said it would not be taken by surprise on any decision made by the Saudi authorities on the 2020 Hajj.
Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Zikrullah Hassan, in a statement Friday in Abuja, assured hopefuls from Nigeria that once Saudi Arabia makes clear its decision on the 2020 Hajj, the commission would reveal the plans it had designed for the religious obligation.
He observed that the COVID-19 pandemic has changed global calculations on matters of engagement and created numerous uncertainties.
This uncertainty, according to him, hovers over possibility of Hajj 2020 taking place.
Hassan commended the Saudi Authorities for their huge investment in tackling the spread of the pandemic in the holy land, noting that it would be of benefit to the Muslim Ummah.
The NAHCON boss while congratulating Muslims on the end of the Ramadan fast, urged them to respect the Federal Government’s restriction on congregational worship while celebrating Eid-el Fitr.
He explained that restrictions and other COVID-19 preventive measures rolled out by governments worldwide are for the general good of humanity.
