We want Abia, Enugu, Anambra In APC– Ganduje
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Addulahi Umar Ganduje, Sunday stated that the task before the Party was the conversion of Abia, Enugu and Anambra to APC controlled States in the Country.
Ganduje who stated this during the APC South East Stakeholder’s Meeting at the Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki, urged APC Party Stakeholders within the region to work in unison, for the overall interest of the Party and eventual takeover of the three remaining States of South East for APC.
He told the people of the South East that the APC as a Party has began the implementation of its blueprint on the de-marginalization of the South East zone, as it will enable the people of the region to benefit maximally from the present administration and gain access to the mainstream of National politics
According to him, all hands must be on deck in order for the vicious circle of marginalisation to be broken against all odds.
“For us to takeover Enugu, Anambra and Abia States, we must unite and uphold internal democracy and understand the constitution of our Party. We will soon start electronic registration. We will examine each polling unit to know the one that has registered for APC.
“We urge you (Ebonyi) to continue with this vigor until South East is brought into that political limelight.”
The Executive Governor of Imo State and Chairman, South-East Governor’s Forum, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, who acknowledged that Nigerians were going through difficult times as a result of the economy of the Country, urged them to be patient with the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration.
He enjoined Nigerians, especially the people of the South East not to take laws into their hands by embarking on any form of protest or crisis as the economic policies of the present administration will soon yield dividends.
Uzodinma, who is also the leader of APC in the South East alleged that those behind the instigation of crisis and protests in some parts of the Country, were politicians who lost elections in the 2023 general elections in the Country.
“We thank Governor Nwifuru for converting the entire state to a one Party State. God Almighty has given us an opportunity to speak for our people. The cost of living is very high. We need to make our people know that there’s hope. I am not happy that the cost of living is high but the good news is that the policies of the federal government if judiciously implemented will bring prosperity to our people.
“People engineering protests are people who lost elections. We will not let them to incite our people. Nobody should incite us. We can never honour any crisis in Nigeria. We don’t want any crisis and war. I have no regrets for what we have passed through, because it has made us stronger. Ebonyi is a template and they have shown us the way. Abia is next. Don’t eat alone because if you eat alone you die alone.
“I want to thank the National Chairman for the programme to de-marginalize us. The more elections we win, the more things we get better.”
Speaking during the meeting, the Host and Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru stress the need for unity, peace and oneness among Ebonyians, irrespective of Party affiliation.
The Governor, who de-emphasized the issue of crisis, infighting and violence, opined that the presence of peace was a catalyst for the overall development of the State.
“We are committed to the sustainability of democracy, which the Party upholds. All the issues raised will also be resolved. APC is the only political Party in existence in this State. It’s better to resolve by sacrifice other than through fighting and acceptance of the fact that everyone of us is needed and we believe that no one has the monopoly of violence.
“What we want is to make our Party proud by allowing the people decide. What we want is for everybody to be part of us. Those that are against our Party in the Party, will be shown the way out.”
