First Call Aid Foundation Collaborates With National Hospital, Abuja
… Donates Emergency Medical, Surgical and Dialysis kit to the hospital.
First Call Aid, A charitable and non-governmental organization headquartered in Abuja, on Thursday 28th November, 2024 formally collaborated with the National Hospital Abuja in the area of medical relief/support to those without the financial muscle to foot their medical bills.
The head of the foundation, Mrs Khadijat Fashina, who recounted her ordeal many years back after a close shave with death of some members of her staff appreciated God Almighty for granting her the privilege of fulfilling her pledge of continuous medical support to humanity after the incident which snowballed into what is today called the First Call Aid. She opined that her husband Engineer Deji Fashina who is a member of the board of trustees, had been her solid pillar of support since inception.
The charitable foundations’ unique approach has been their _forte_ in providing life-saving emergency services to those in dire need particularly as it relates to the financial burden attached to medical services.
Established formally in 2024, the board of trustees of First Aid Call have been actively involved in humanitarian gestures for several years ranging but not limited to the donation of incubator to Wuse General Hospital, life saving drugs to the paediatric unit of Gwarimpa Hospital, wheel chairs and other medical kits to Kubwa General hospital, financial assistance to ailing patients and many more.
In his Remark, the Managing Director of National Hospital Abuja Professor Muhammad Mahmud ably represented praised the initiative of the NGO for initiating a viable partnership with the hospital noting that it would go a long way not just to assist the less privileged, but would also attract other well meaning Nigerians like Mrs Khadijat Fashina to key into this collaborative health initiative.
The highlight of the event was the official launch of emergency medical and dialysis kit led by Mr Olukolade Ayinla where well spirited Nigerians donated gracefully to the cause.
The epoch event was witnessed by very important personalities from all walks of life including a former chief of Naval Staff and Two time minister in Nigeria Admiral Jubrila Ayinla and his lovely wife, Minister of state for health ably represented, CEO National Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr Muyi Aina, Alhaji Abdulrasheed Owodunni, keynote speaker and medical consiltant and many more.
The foundation in coming years hope to spread their horizon to other parts of the country in order to alleviate the financial burden associated with various health challenges.
