FBN donates 3,100 bags of cement for rehabilitation of IDP’s homes in Borno

First Bank of Nigeria Limited on Monday donated 3,100 bags of cement and bundles of roofing sheets to the Borno State Government for the rebuilding and rehabilitation of communities destroyed by Boko Haram in the State.
The Zonal Manager of the bank, Alhaji Abba Hassan, presented the building materials at the Borno State Government House in Maiduguri.
Hassan said the donation was to complement the State Government’s effort to rebuild destroyed communities and resettle IDPs living in camps.
He said: “The monumental destruction of lives and property by Boko Haram is a serious concern to both the state government and the bank.
“We find it necessary to complement the efforts of the state government in rebuilding the destroyed communities, so that the IDPs could return to their ancestral homes.
“The management of the bank was also moved by the concern exhibited by Governor Kashim Shettima to relocate to Bama for a week to commence the rebuilding of the towns destroyed by the insurgents in 2014.
“The partnership with the Borno State Government and the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibilities to the public, including the IDPs, had been affected by Boko Haram insurgency not only in the state but the entire North East,” Hassan said.
Shettima thanked the bank for donating he materials, saying that it will complement the efforts of the Ministry of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement in rebuilding the affected communities.
