Ogun Trains 7,610 Farmers In Six Months

Ogun State Government has trained over seven thousand, five hundred farmers in the last six months to boost agricultural production in the State.
          The Programme Manager, Ogun State Agricultural Development Programme, Mrs. Taiwo Ayansanwo disclosed this while addressing the House Committee on Agriculture during the assessment of the 2019 Budget Performance of the Ministry.
          Mrs. Ayansanwo explained that a total number of 68 trainings were conducted across the zones on livestock, fishery and agro-processing, adding that 2,880 N-power Volunteers were also trained during the period.
          In her earlier remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye, said with the ongoing steps of  the State Governor, prince Dapo Abiodun to link farmers with financial institutions through Anchor Borrowers Programme and other various agricultural support, the State would  achieve its target of not only feeding its citizens, but the nation at large.
          Chairman, House Committee on Agriculture, Mr. Sylvester Abiodun, urged the Ministry to step up efforts on revenue generation and public enlightenment, noting that, House of Assembly would give necessary support towards attaining success in its various programmes.
