EKSG Partners Helium Health, Sterling Bank On Digitalised And Improved Health Care Service delivery
The Ekiti State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Electronic Health Record Company (EHR), Helium Health and Sterling Bank to enhance improved health care service delivery in the State.
Speaking at the official signing of the tripartite MOU in Ado Ekiti, the Commissioner for Health and Human Services Dr Oyebanji Filani noted that the process would strengthen the health sector through accurate data collection, processing and storage of healthcare records that would improve quality of healthcare services.
Dr Filani stressed that the major concern of Dr Kayode Fayemi led Administration was to partner relevant development partners to ensure better and improved healthcare service delivery in the state. He noted that the present Administration has started renovation of 12 secondary facilities with procurement of medical equipment as well as recruitment of staff among other projects.
The Commissioner disclosed that four Secondary facilities in the state would be used as pilot for the project before expanding it.
“This partnership and technological innovation will enable our system leverage on some advantages from private sectors such as skills transfer, ensure transparency, accountability as well as better health care service delivery for Ekiti People. I believe this collaboration was both timely and relevant. I’m very confident that this partnership will drive a new wave of development, making Ekiti State a regional hub for innovative healthcare service delivery”. He stated.
The Head Regional Growth (Public Sector) Helium Health, Mr Abiola Osunniyi disclosed that the company would expend about #300million to provide digital health technology facilities in the state.
Mr Osunniyi noted that the plan was to introduce an electronic medical system where accurate healthcare data and storage can positively affect healthcare administration.
“We have done this partnership with Akwa-Ibom and Lagos States’ governments, which centers primarily around technology to bridge the gap that exist in patients’ data, there is usually a gap. The old days where patients data are contained in papers are over. We are in digital and computer era “. He noted.
The Group Head of Sterling Bank Mrs Ibironke Akinmade said that the partnership would ensure easy access to medical record, and reduce leakages as well as promote accountability in the system.
Mrs Akinmade noted that Sterling bank has set up some fund to help in digitalizing some of our health facilities as part of its focus to improve health, energy, education and agriculture which she noted was its focal areas in the development of Nigeria.
