EKSG Pledges Continuous Partnership With Development Partners For Sustainable Development

The Ekiti state government will continue to partner with development partners to develop the state.
The Commissioner for Health and Human Services Dr. Oyebanji Filani stated this while playing host to the members of Nigeria Red Cross Society, Ekiti state branch, in Ado- Ekiti.
Dr. Filani assured that the ministry would continue to work and encourage organizations working for the overall development of the state.
“We have a very clear idea of what we want to do to develop the state, we will continue to partner development partners, such as WHO, UNICEF as well as the Nigeria Red Cross Society to develop the state “. The commissioner stated.
The commissioner for Health commended the Nigeria Red Cross Society for its humanitarian services and contributions to the development and wellness of mankind.
Earlier, the Chairman of Nigeria Red Cross Society, Ekiti state branch Dr. Tunde Ajayi noted that the society has always partnered the state ministry of health in combating Measles, Corlera,Polio as well as in the area of Immunization, Sanitation, Health awareness campaigns and other health-related issues.
Dr. Ajayi called for more involvement of members of the society in the activities of the state Ministry of Health noting that health scope was getting wider and all hands must be on deck.
The Chairman also solicited for the appointment of desk officer among members of the Nigeria Red Cross Society in order to increase the bond as well as enhancing better working relationship between the society and the state government.
While making his remarks, the Branch Vice Chairman of the Society who is also a Permanent Secretary in Ekiti state, Barrister Bamidele Arowosola appreciated the state government for creating enabling environment for development partners to operate
Barrister Arowosola disclosed that the National Headquarters of the society in conjunction with the state branch was planning to organize training on Risk Communication and Community Engagement for 20 volunteers each in three LGAs of Ado-Ekiti , Ikere Ekiti and Ido/Osi calling on the ministry to continue to collaborate with the society’s capacity-building programmes for Ekiti residents.
