Eagles Open Camp On Monday For Friendly Against Algeria
Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer, Ike Shorunmu, has declared that the International friendly against Algeria national team on September 23 would assist the team’s technical crew to build a formidable squad and boost the country’s profile.
He noted that all the players invited for the Algeria tie are 100 percent fit and poised to face the North African side.
“I don’t understand were the news making the round that the International friendly against Algeria will be played with domestic players only. It is a grade A friendly organised by Algeria to prepare their team for the World Cup in Qatar. The arrangements for the game have already been concluded with the NFF and the organisers. The Super Eagles main team will be used for the tie. List of players for the match has been sent to the NFF. Camp will open on Monday. Players and officials are expected to arrive camp same day,” he said.
He also added that the Eagles list for the friendly would be released soon.
The friendly game is billed for Stade Mohamed Hamlaoui, Constastine. The Algeria team will host the African Nations Championship (CHAN) early next year. The North Africans will also take on Sudan in another friendly on Friday, September 29.
In another development, the Nigeria Football Federation and the Portuguese Football Federation have signed a formal agreement for an international friendly on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the Estadio Jane Alvalade Lisbon.
