Court Remands Man For Stealing Woman Underwear In Osun
A 23-year-old man, Opeyemi Adeleke was on Tuesday remanded in Ilesa prison custody by an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a woman underwear (Pant).
The Magistrate, Mrs Mary Awodele, had ordered the accused person to be remanded in prison custody due to the magnitude of the alleged offense committed.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Jafani Musilim, had told the court that the accused person committed the offence on Jan. 21th, at about 1:00am, at Ago wande area, Osogbo Osun state.
Musilim said the accused person in an unlawful manner stole the pant of one Gift Sunday without her consent and hid it before she noticed it.
He said the incident took the tireless effort of the police to retrieve the underwear before the accused person was brought to the court.
The prosecutor said the offence committed contravened sections 249(d) and 3909(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2003.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the offence leveled against him.
The Defense Counsel, Mrs Susan Ajeigbe, prayed the court to grant her client bail in the most liberal  terms.
The Magistrate, however, overruled the bail application and ordered for a formal bail application on the next date of adjournment on Feb. 12 for ruling on bail application.
