Osun 2018:Crack In APC As State Working Committee Passes No Confidence Vote On Chairman/Secretary

Osun chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) suffered a major crack Monday as 11 out of 16 members of the State Working committee passed a vote of no confidence on the Chairman,  Prince Gboyega Famodun,  and the Secretary, Alhaji Rasak Salinsile.
The committee consequently directed the state Deputy Chairman,  Alhaji Azeez Isa Adesiji and the State Deputy Secretary,  Alhaji Rasheed Bakare Idera to take over the mantle of leadership as the Acting Chairman and Acting Secretary respectively
Addressing newsmen in Osogbo on Monday, Barrister Goke Ogunsola,  the Legal adviser to the party in the state,  flanked by other 11 members  of the State Working Committee, including the Vice-chairman, Isah Azeez Adesiji,  Assistant Secretary,  Rasheed Bakare and the  Chairman of  Local Government Chairmen , Rufus Awotidoye,  announced the suspension.
They accused the suspended officers of taking actions without a recourse to the relevant organs of the party in the state on the mode or method to be adopted by the state chapter of the party for the party’s forth-coming Governorship primary elections slated for 19th of July.
Famoodun and his secretary were said to have cooked a resolution purportedly reached by the state working committee in the state that direct  mode or method of primary election be adopted for the party primary.
Besides,  they among others accused them of coercing some of the members of the working committee to sign the said resolution at the private law office of Dr.  Ajibola Bashiru, the current Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Osun while the chairman and secretary planned to sign for others.
“We,  therefore,  want to state loud and clear that we do not have confidence in the party Chairman and Secretary of the party in the state again. Therefore,  we hereby pass a vote of no confidence on Prince Gboyega Famodun,   and Alhaji Abdul Rasak Salinsile,  the Chairman and Secretary of the APC in the State of Osun respectively.
“We implore the state Deputy Chairman,  Alhaji Azeez Isa Adesiji and the State Deputy Secretary,  Alhaji Rasheed Bakare Idera to take over the mantle of leadership as the Acting Chairman and Acting Secretary respectively and lead the party to success in the forthcoming governorship election.
“Finally,  we want to inform the head of various security agencies in the state,  more especially the Commissioner of Police,  Osun State that the lives of members of Integrity Group within APC,  which cut across the organs of the party in the state across the 30 Local Government Council Areas,  and the Area office are being threatened from certain quarters because of their stand against direct primary.
“We appeal to the heads of security agencies in the state to ensure the protection of our lives and property where ever we reside”.
