After 9 Days In Coma, Tramadol Induced Kidnapper Dies In Ondo
After nine days of being unconscious as a result of complications from high intake of tramadol, a kidnap suspect in Ondo state Monday gave up the ghost.
Unfortunately, police detectives that have been waiting for him to come back to life could not get any information from him including his identity.
The suspect was arrested on August 5, after he fell following the intake of tramadol during a botched kidnap attempt of a Pharmacist in Owo area of the state.
His two other accomplices fled from the scene on a motorcycle which was snatched from one Daodu Wale who came to the chemist to buy drugs.
Recall that the pharmacist escaped through the back door of the chemist when the three suspects arrived the Chinery Pharmacy with the intention of kidnapping him
Sensing trouble, the three suspects retreated after those in the shop noticed the guns that was in their hands and raised alarm.
While two of the suspected abductors fled the scene, the deceased while trying to follow suit fell down and became unconscious.
Timely intervention of police detectives prevented the youths from setting him ablaze.
He was reportedly taking to police station and paraded to newsmen even in his unconscious state.
It was gathered he was taken to the hospital where he finally passed on.
Confirming, the image maker of the command, Femi Joseph said that “The suspect died ten days after we arrested him; we thought he would be revived so that he could help us in our investigation.
“ Unfortunately, he died yesterday (Monday). This could be connected with the high intake of tramadol which he took.
“We are using this opportunity to further educate the public, especially parents, to monitor their wards and the kind of company they keep, ’’ .
Joseph said items recovered from the deceased include one cut to size locally made gun and 400mg of tramadol.
