Cleric Seeks Prayers For Looming Food Crisis

A popular televangelist and General Overseer of the Frontline Missionary Church in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Apostle Unyime Nkanta, has advocated for a prayer summit to resuscitate the country’s ailing economy and avert the looming food crisis staring the country.

According to him, Christians from all walks of life should set aside a day of prayer to God to intervene in the economic challenges confronting the nation.

Speaking at a media interaction in Uyo, the state capital on Tuesday, the cleric said the call became necessary as the Lord has laid it upon his spirit to remind Nigeria leaders of the late Prophet TB Joshua’s prophesies concerning the economic crisis that would ravage the world, including Nigeria.

Prophet TB Joshua had, in separate prophetic messages on December 28, 2008; October 16, 2011; and December 29, 2013, predicted that there will be an economic crisis that would hit the world, including Nigeria.

According to the prophecies, the economic crisis would humble many nations and citizens, there would be a devaluation of the naira, and the prices of oil would drop, among others.

He had advised Nigerians to return to the traditional occupation of farming, fishing, and cattle rearing as a way of tackling the crisis.

Nkanta, while urging the Nigeria governments and believers not to neglect the prophecies, however, urged her leaders to “think towards the diversification of the nation’s economy by initiating programmes in the areas of agriculture that would encourage citizen’s participation in active farming, so as to deal with the current food crisis threatening the country”.

He added,” The only way to tackle the food crisis currently enveloping the nation is for government to provide the enabling environment devoid of security disturbances as well as the provision of modern farming and agricultural incentives to Nigerians who desire to go back to farming in their various localities.”

The preacher who used the occasion to unveil an upcoming Church programme tagged ‘Limitless Miracles Conference’ to be held on Saturday 27th August through Sunday 28th, 2022, along Ekom Iman, Etinan road, said the programme will feature salvation, deliverance, healing, and breakthrough to everyone who desires the help of God in their life.

He hinted that during the conference, the Church will offer profound prayers for the restoration of the economy of Akwa Ibom State in particular and Nigeria at large.

He enjoined church leaders to encourage their members to embark effectively on any agricultural business of their choice to help free themselves from want and lack in life.
