Buhari Writes Senate To Confirm Kayamo Six Others NDIC Board Members
President Muhammadu Buhari has written a letter to the National Assembly seeking for the confirmation of Festus Keyamo, SAN, and six other nominees for the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) board members.
Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari Recall that Buhari recently appointed Kayamo his 2019 campaign spokesman.
The six other nominees include; Olabode Akeem Mustapha (chairman, Ogun state), Garba Buba (Bauchi state), Bello Garba (Sokoto state), Joseph OJ Okalogu (Enugu state), Mustapha Adewale Mudashiru (Kwara state) and Adewale Adeleke (Ondo state).
“Dear Distinguished Senate President, request for confirmation of appointment of Chairman and members of the Governing Board of the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation.
“In compliance with section 5 (4) of the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Act 2006, it is my pleasure to forward to distinguished senate the under listed nominees for confirmation as chairman and members of Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Their CVs are attached”, part of the letter read.
However, senate president Bukola Saraki read another executive communication from Buhari on request for confirmation of Appointment for Resident Electoral Commission Nominee Candidate; Attahiru Garba.
His words, “I write to forward to the Senate, the name of Attahiru Garba Adami, for confirmation as a replacement for Resident Electoral Commissioner from Niger State. The CV of the nominee is attached herewith.
“It will be recalled that the Senate had earlier rejected the initial nominee the grounds that it hails from the same Local Government Area and Senatorial district with a serving National Commissioner. While thanking the distinguished Senate immensely and anticipation of the early consideration and confirmations of the appointment please accept the assurances of my highest consideration.”
