Prioritise Welfare Of Poor Nigerians In 2025, Bishop Urges Tinubu

The Bishop of Ijesa North Anglican Diocese, Ijebu Jesa, Osun State, Rt. Rev’d Isaac Oluyamo, has called on President Bola Tinubu to prioritise the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians in 2025.

This was contained in the New Year message by the clergy, obtained in Osogbo on Wednesday.

Oluyamo, while congratulating Nigerians on the privilege of witnessing another year, urged Tinubu to ensure that the poor and vulnerable are not neglected in his policies and programmes.

He called on the President to focus on addressing the needs of the less privileged and to implement deliberate measures aimed at lifting them out of poverty and improving their living standards.

The Bishop also encouraged Nigerians to explore opportunities in agriculture, recognising the sector’s potential for economic growth and sustainability.

“President Tinubu should place a high priority on the welfare of poor and vulnerable Nigerians in the year 2025. He must do more in addressing their yearning for better living conditions,” Oluyamo stated.

He commended Osun State Commissioner for Agriculture, Babatola Faseru, for his efforts in promoting agriculture in the state and congratulated the new Owa of Ijesaland, Oba Adesuyi Haastrup, on his ascension to the throne, assuring him of the prayers and support of his Diocese.

The Bishop further emphasised the importance of peace to societal development, urging Nigerians to strive for harmony and to cooperate with the government in efforts to rid the country of crime.
