Bandits Abduct Women, Children Along Birnin Gwari Road, Demand N25m Ransom
Bandits who abduct about Seven women and their four children along the dreaded Birnin Gwari Road in Kaduna State have demanded N25 million ransom from their relations.
Alhaji Umaru Udawa, a community leader told journalists that the victims who were travelling to a ceremony were abducted between Manini and Udawa village in Chikun Local Government Area of the state on Friday.
He said the bandits have called the family of the victims, demanding N15m ransom for the women and N10m ransom for the children.
According to the community leader,” the relations have told the village head and we are appealing to the bandits to release them unhurt, while negotiations are ongoing. We hope they will graciously reduce the ransom to a reasonable amount.”
The authorities are yet to react to the abduction.
