Air Peace Makes Maiden Flight To Ondo

Air Peace, a private airline on Sunday, made its maiden flight to Akure, the state capital.
Speaking at a ceremony to mark the commencement of flight operation to Ondo, the state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu described the arrival of Air Peace in the state as the beginning of great economic revival in the state.
The governor, who said the development marks the beginning of great happenings in the state, urged the people of the state to avail themselves of the services provided by the airline.
He reiterated his determination to make the state attractive to both local and foreign investors.
Akeredolu said the flight to Akure, the state capital, marked the beginning of a Private Public Partnership (PPP) between the state government and Air Peace, a private airline.
While praising God for making the development possible, Akeredolu said the commencement of commercial flights into Akure “will no doubt reduce the stress, risk and wear and tear that our people go through to go to Lagos”.
According to the governor, “this will open up the state to both local and foreign investors who can now access our state from Lagos in less than one hour.”
Akeredolu expressed hope that the initiative would stimulate the industrial growth of the All Progressives Congress (APC) change mantra, adding that before long, cargo services would commence at the airport to assist in the export of farm produce to the United States and other foreign countries.
His words : “Today marks another giant step in our mission to develop Ondo State. The commencement of commercial flights into Akure will no doubt reduce the stress, risk and wear and tear that our people go through to go to Lagos.
“More importantly, it will open up the state to both local and foreign investors who can now access our state from Lagos in under one hour. It is another chapter in our determination to make sure that we leave Ondo State better than we met it.”
Speaking earlier, the Chief Operating Officer of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, expressed delight with the arrangement and vowed to ensure that the partnership blossoms into bigger ventures.
Onyema said he agreed to partner with the state in order to ensure that the dream of Governor Akeredolu to attract investors and create jobs is achieved.

“The man, Akeredolu, believes in workable principle. It may not be tantalising to want to come to Ondo State, but when you see a governor that is visionary like Akeredolu, you just have to join him to realise his vision.

“Ondo State has a lot to give Nigeria and humanity. As an oil producing state, it should be in the forefront of the quest to develop Nigeria. It is a state populated with principled people.
“They are people who stand up for what they believe in. The arrival of our airline here will further open up the capability of the state to sound economic development,” Onyema said.
