The All Farmers Association of Nigeria, Jigawa State Chapter has lauded Governor Muhammad Badaru and the Central Bank of Nigeria for granting loan to dry season farmers in the state.
Alhaji Idris Maiungwa, AFAN’s Chairman in Jigawa State, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Dutse on Tuesday that Badaru, in collaboration with CBN, granted soft loans to his members.
He said the association would screen the farmers, to ensure that that only the bona fide members would benefit from the credit facility.
Maiungwa pledged the association’s steady support to the state governor, to boost agriculture and ensure food security.
Rice farming under the CBN Borrowers’ Anchor Programme ss going on in all 21 Local Government Areas of the state with an estimated yield of 1.2 million metric tonnes per harvest.
