Tinubu Congratulates Bello Shagari On Election As NAMYO Chairperson
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Muhammed Bello Bala Shagari on his election as Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Youth Organisation (NAMYO) for the 2026–2029 term.
The President described the election as a significant achievement for Nigeria and a recognition of Shagari’s contributions to youth development and international engagement.
Shagari, a former Vice Chairperson of NAMYO for Africa and President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, is expected to use his new position to promote youth cooperation, peace, sustainable development and the aspirations of the Global South.
President Tinubu said the Federal Government remains committed to creating opportunities for Nigerian young people to participate meaningfully in national development and take on leadership responsibilities at home and internationally.
The President emphasises that the administration will continue to support initiatives that empower young Nigerians through skills development, entrepreneurship, innovation, education, sustainable development and greater participation in public and international affairs.
President Tinubu urged Shagari to uphold the principles of service, inclusiveness and mutual respect as he leads the organisation.
The President wished Shagari a successful tenure and assured him of the Federal Government’s support.
