MC Oluomo Has No Immunity, Sue Him With Your Evidence, Says Police

The Nigeria Police Force has urged anyone with evidence to file a case against the chairman of the Lagos State Parks and Garages Association, Musiliu Akinsaya, popularly known as Mc Oluomo.

The force spokesman, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in a tweet on Tuesday.

During the 2023 gubernatorial election, a trending video showed MC Oluomo allegedly intimidating voters who would not cast their ballots for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to stay home.

“When we finish voting, we’ll be watching because we have begged you and you said you have heard. If you make a mistake, you will understand. Please tell them, we have begged them. If they don’t vote for us, it is not a fight. Tell them that, Chukwudi’s mother, if you don’t for us, sit down at home. Do you understand? Sit down at home,” Mc Oluomo said in the video.

MC Oluomo’s statement drew criticism from many Nigerians calling for his arrest and prosecution.

In response to criticism, MC Oluomo claimed that he was not speaking to the Igbo in Lagos but rather to a woman named “Iya Chukwudi” and added that he had used a playful tone when he made the statement.

A Twitter user named, Eleonu Clinton, alleged that the objectivity of the police on the matter is questionable.

Police spokesman Adejobi in his reaction said that victims with substantial evidence can file a case of assault against Mc Oluomo, noting that he has no immunity.

“You can take the case of attack up with MC if you have a case or evidence of attacks against him,” Adejobi said.

“Many people and lawyers, even the deputy gov of Lagos, have said it severally. He has no immunity, so if you have a case of attack against him, take it up.”
