Umahi Receives New Commissioner Of Police, Makes  Case For Night Patrol Across  State

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi has received the new Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Garba while
pledging to support the new CP to enable him to succeed in discharging his task across the state.

Governor Umahi received the new Commissioner of Police on Wednesday at the Exco Chambers of the new Government House, Ochoudo Centenary City, Abakaliki.

The new Commissioner of Police CP Aliyu Garba hails from Niger State.

Speaking, the new CP assured Governor Umahi he was going to bring his wealth of experience in previous positions to bear to tackle some security challenges including incessant cult clashes and activities of herders in the State.

“I am here to serve the people to improve the security of lives and property. These I am going to pursue through building of confidence of the Officers, show of force with sister security agencies, night patrols under strict supervision among others”

The Governor while welcoming the new CP to the State charged him to ensure constant patrol across the City especially at night to ensure adequate security of the State.

He pledged to give the new CP the needed support to enable him to succeed in the task ahead of him.

“I want you, restore the confidence of the people in the police, we have to wage war against criminals”
