Fake Soldier Docked In Osun
Rotimi Oluwadabira, (49) has appeared before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife over his alleged claim to be a soldier.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charges of impersonation and breach of peace slammed on him by police.
Emmanuel said that the defendant appeared and claimed to be a member of the Nigerian army knowing same to be false representation.
He added that the defendant conducted himself in a manner that may likely cause a total break down of law and order when he under the claim to be a member of Nigerian Army oppressed others.
Emmanuel told the court that the offence contravened sections 109 and 249(d) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2020.
However, the Defence Counsel, Mr Wonder Okon, pleaded for the bail of the defendant in most liberal term with the promise that his client would not jump bail, but stand his case.
Magistrate A.A. Adebayo, granted the bail of the defendant in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like amount adding that the surety must swear to an affidavit of means among other bail conditions as he adjourned the case until Oct 19, for hearing.
