Yabatech Gets New Registrar
The Governing Council of Yaba College of Technology has appointed a substantive Registrar for the seventy years and foremost institution in Nigeria.
He is Dr. Sikiru Kayode Momodu, 57, from the Admission Unit of the Registry Department of the College. His appointment came after the expiration of the immediate past Registrar, Ms. Biekoroma Charity Amapakabo, who was notably described as the Diamond of Registry of the College for its transformation.
Dr. Momodu was born on the 27th of March, 1961 from Ikenne, Remo, Ogun State. He bagged his first degree, Bachelor of Art, combined Honours at the University of llorin and proceeded to the University of Lagos for his Masters and Phd programmes in History, History and Strategic Studies respectively. He had his secondary school at Federal Government College, Odogbolu and Primary School at Ansar-ur- deen Primary School, Odelemo, Remo, Sagamu.
He is a member of many professional bodies among which are Nigeria Institute of Management, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), Personnel Practitioners Consultative Association, Nigeria Institute of International Affairs and Licensed Human Resources Personnel.
He is a fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration.
Until his appointment, Dr. Sikiru Kayode Momodu was Deputy Registrar, Admission in the Registry Department of the College. He joined Yaba College of Technology in November, 1993. He rose from rank and file to the position of a Deputy Registrar. He has served in several capacities as secretary, member and chairman of many committees. Dr. Momodu has many publications to his credit and has delivered numerous papers. He is married with children.
