Lagos Assembly Passes N1.046 Trillion 2018 Appropriation Bill
Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed the state’s 2018 appropriation bill of N1.046 Trillion.
The Speaker Lagos State House of Assembly, RT.Hon. Mudashiru Obasa while giving a breakdown of the bill, said N699billion was appropriated for Capital Expenditure and N347billion for Recurrent expenditure.
The House passed the appropriation bill after the Speaker Mr. Mudashiru Obasa conducted a voice vote on each of the sectoral allocations for Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
Hon Adams moved a motion for the adoption of the report and recommendation of the Hon Gbalahan Yishawu led Ad-hoc Committee on the 2018 Appropriation bill and it was seconded by Hon Nageem.
Earlier, while presenting the report Hon.Yishawu indicted some Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDA’S) for improper planning and presentation of their budgets.
Hon. Fatai Mojeed also wondered why some MDA’S recorded increase in salary expenditure when there was no increase in the number of people employed.
It will be recalled that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Dec. 11, 2017 presented the proposed “Budget of Progress and Development’’ to the Assembly.
The Lawmakers also called for the review of the Private Public Partnership of the state government, demanding that the Executive arm of government should furnish the House with the exact number organizations it has partnership with for proper legislation.
