Lagos PDP Crisis: National Scribe Wades In
Following the breach of the peace by members loyal to Hon. Moshood Salvador of the Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the National Caretaker Committee (NCC) of the party has asked BOT members to take over the Secretariat.
In a letter signed by the National Secretary Sen. Ben Obi and addressed to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, NCC asked the two serving Board of Trustee members in Lagos, Mrs Aduke Maina and Chief Bode Goerge to take over the party secretariat in accordance with section 32 (5)(e) of the PDP constitution.
In a chat with our correspondent Saturday in Lagos at the party’s secretariat, Otunba Segun Adewale said “we were presented with a letter from the National Secretary, Sen Ben Obi asking the Police to hand over the State Secretariat of our party to the two BOT members from Lagos pending when the issue will be resolved by the National Chairman, Sen Ahmed Markafi. As a peace loving party faithful, I have handed over the Secretariat to the Police in the overall interest of our party”.
Adewale said his election as the party’s Chairman was duly conducted and supervised by the national headquarters in May 2016 under the watch of Mrs Aduke Maina and former Kano state governor, Shekarau.  He maintained there was no contention in Lagos PDP until Chief Bode George decided to impose Hon Moshood Salvadoor on the party as his selected State Chairman in contravention to the Constitution of the party.
The State commissioner of police is presently in custody of the keys to the secretariat having being locked by my humble self and keys handed over as directed by the National Secretary of our great party.
