Osun Monarchs Canvass Support For Aregbesola
Traditional rulers in Osun State have declared their unalloyed support for the administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State.
Rising from a meeting held in the palace of the Akinrun of Ikirun at the weekend, the royal fathers also called for the support of the citizenry to enable the governor achieve success in his lofty programmes and projects.
Reading a communiqué signed by the monarchs drawn from the three Senatorial districts of the state, the Akinrun of Ikirun, Oba Rauf Olawale Adedeji urged the governor to refuse to be distracted from his good works.
The monarchs who noted that the state have never had it these good expressed their gratitude to the governor for turning the state around.
The royal father under the aegis of Concerned Traditional Rulers, State of Osun noted that despite the biting cash crunch bedeviling the state, the governor was still forging ahead executing one developmental projects or the other.
Flanked by the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Elerin of Erin-Osun, Onikoyi of Ikoyi, Oloba of Oba-Oke, Olororuwo of Ororuwo, Alademure of Ibokun among others, Oba Adedeji commended Aregbesola for the amelioration of the financial plight of workers with the substantial payment of the arrears of their salaries including those of pensioners.
“Of note also is the amelioration of the financial plight of workers by being able to pay substantially the arrears of their salaries and the payment of the arrears of pension to the pensioners in the State”, he said.
While urging governor Aregbesola to remain focused, the traditional rulers enjoined the people of the state to cooperate with government by discharging their civic responsibilities.
