Ahead of Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections, no fewer than 35 registered political parties in Kwara State on the platform of Kwara Like-minds Political Parties, KLPP, Wednesday, collapsed their structures into All Progressives Congress, APC, and endorsed its governorship candidate, Abdulraham Abdulrazaq.

The latest development has boosted the chances of APC governorship candidate of APC, and all the party’s candidates for the state House of Assembly in the March 9 elections in the state.
Spokesperson of the political group, Mr Sunday Oladele, at a briefing in Ilorin, said: “The group has been in existence for over two years now and has been working round to join hands with like-minds in the struggle to liberate the state from a single hegemony that had been running the affairs of the state for over 40 years.
“The group had worked with APC underneath during last year’s by-election of Irepodun /Isin/Oke-Ero/Ekiti federal constituency that produced Raheem Ajulo and it was successful.
“But, today, we decided to come out publicly to throw our support to APC and its governorship candidate, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, and also support all the 24 members of the state House of Assembly of APC during the March 9 governorship and state House of Assembly polls in the state.”
Oladele, flanked by the state chairmen of the political parties that collapsed their structure into APC, noted: “Kwara Like-Mind Political Parties, comprising different registered political parties in Kwara State, showed up when it matters because we are at a critical stage in our country, but most especially our dear state is already in the political labour room.
“We are joining hands with APC and other stakeholders in Kwara State in taking a successful delivery of liberated Kwara come March 9 governorship and state House of Assembly elections in the state. “Today is not meant for any unending discussion but to let the whole world know that when Kwarans are dying slowly in the hands of political tyrant, the KLPP showed up. When Kwarans are groaning and gnashing their teeth under the bad governance in the state, posterity will be fair to KLPP for showing up.
“Members of KLPP, hereby, once again instruct our members and appeal to the teeming voters in Kwara State to come out enmasse on March 9, 2019 to vote for Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq of APC and all APC candidates to Kwara State House of assembly.”
Earlier, State chairman of APC, Bashr Bolarinwa, thanked the group for identifying with APC in the state in its quest to liberate the people of the state, saying there was no doubt that the superlative outing of the party had endeared many stakeholders and groups to come out publicly to support the party ahead of March 9 elections in the state.
