2 Killed  As Building Under Construction Collapses In Lagos
A  building under construction at Nicon town Estate, Admiralty way Lekki partially collapsed killing two labourers, who were working on the site.
It was learnt  that the labourers were working on the casting of roof beams and some and some finishing part of the construction work when the part of the building collapsed on the workers, simply identified as Tasiu and Abdullahi and left the other person critically injured.
The injured man identified as Yakub was taking to Germaine Hospital where he was being attended to.
As of the time of filing this report, efforts were still on going to know the whereabouts of the remains of the dead bodies.
Other witnesses  said that the bodies had been buried according to Islamic rites.
An emergency officer, who confirmed to our correspondent, said that the dead victims bodies were recovered in the rubbles.
Commenting on the in the tragic incident, General Manager Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA,  Mr Tiamiyu Adesina said that the agency received a report at about 11.40 a regarding the report of partial collapse building at Nicon town Estate, Admiralty way Lekki.
According to him, investigation conducted by the Agency’s response team at the scene of the incident revealed that structure under the process of casting of the roof beam and parapet facial collapsed as mixed concrete.
He said:”Two adult male named Tasiu and Abdulahi were reportedly dead, while an adult male named Yakub sustained some injuries and had been taken to the hospital.
The agency’s emergency response team had immediately cordoned off the building for further investigation to be carried out by the appropriate authorities.
