2 Docked For Stealing Cars In Osun

 

Two dealers in scrap metals were on Wednesday arraigned before an Osun Magistrates’ court sitting in Osogbo for allegedly stealing two cars.

The duo, Salami Kabiru (40) and Kasali Kolawole (25) and others at large according to the prosecutor Inspector Olayiwola Rasaq committed the offense in the month of July 2020 at Atelewo area Osogbo

He alleged that the defendants did conspired among themselves and stole one Peugeot 406 car with registration number KSF 439 EV valued #1,200,000 property of one Lawal Isiaka and one Audi car with registration number SAP 494 AA valued #650,000 property of one Adetunji Taiwo

Olayiwola noted that the offense committed is contrary to and punishable under section 516,390(9),451 and 430(2) of the criminal code Cap 34 Vol ll law of Osun state 2002

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the five-count charges of conspiracy, stealing, malicious damage and unlawful possession allegations preferred against them by the police

Defence counsel, Okobe Najite applied for the bail of the defendants in most liberal term with the promise that the accused persons will provide credible sureties and stand their case.

Though Olayiwola opposed the bail application due to their stressful manner of arrest and likely consequence on the arrest of those at large, Magistrate Opeyemi Badmus granted the bail in the sum of #500,000 each with two sureties in like sum as he adjourned the matter till September 10, 2020 for hearing
