137 Suspects Nabbed n Lagos, As  Police Burst Cultists’ Gathering 

 One hundred and thirty seven suspected cultists have been arrested by the police in Lagos over alleged unlawful assemblage to carry out initiation into a secret cult.

It was learnt that the suspects, arrested in an hotel in Ikorodu and Ogombo areas of the state by operatives of the Anti- Cultism Unit were  observing their sacred day known as,  “7 day of the 7 month”, undergoing initiation in preparation to unleash mayhem on the larger society.

One hundred and twenty out of the suspects were apprehended in Ikorodu, while 17 were arrested in Ogombo.

Thirty three out of those arrested in Ikorodu are female.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police Edgal Imohimi who paraded the suspects on Monday at the command headquarter said the suspects had earlier been warned on Thursday 5th July , 2018 against the assemblage.

His words ” Remember the popular saying ” to be fore warned is to be fore armed. This command had on Thursday 5th July, 2018 warned cultists preparing to observe their “sacred day ” called the 7th day of the 7 month”, not to converge on.any part of the state. We also encouraged good Nigerians to give information about these group of persons anywhere they are seen.

Based on credible intelligence available to the command and which was communicated to the Officer In- Charge, Anti Cultism, the following suspects numbering one hundred and twenty (120) were arrested at Ikorodu where they were observing 7-7, undergoing initiation in preparation to unleash mayhem on the larger society”.

He identified some of them to include Nifemi Fadairo”f”, Okunlewu Habibat “f”, Musiliu Taiwo ” f”, Olanike Laaisi “f”, Sulimon Kabiru ” f”, Olanrewaju Zainab “f”, Oyedele Elizabeth ” f”, Alima Olowu “f”, Abosede Popoola ” f”, Ebele Joseph “f”, Onuwka Uchena ” m” 28yrs, Oluwaseyi Elijah “m” 38yrs, Aro Abisola, Chukwudi Robert. Alex John and Gbolagade Taofik among others.

The police boss said all the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigation into the case is over.
