Capital Projects: Ekiti Elders Commend Fayose
A non-political group, the Ekiti Council of Elders, has commended Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, on the various capital projects being executed across the state.
The council gave the commendation in Ado-Ekiti during a visit to the governor at the Government House.
In a statement on Sunday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Idowu Adelusi, the group said it was pleased that despite the economic recession in the country, the Fayose
administration was still able to embark on some projects that were changing the landscape of the state.
The council, led by the Chairman, Professor J.O. Oluwasanmi, also
presented a paper to the governor which it said could guide the
administration in policy formulation.
Speaking for the members, the Secretary, Mr Niyi Ajibulu, said they
were impressed with the giant strides the state recorded in education, provision of infrastructure and called for a synergy between the council and the state government.
A member of the council, Chief Deji Fasuan, said the state deserved
more federal presence.
He said members of the National Assembly from the state needed to
do more to attract more federal projects to Ekiti.
Noting that the council was non-partisan, Fasuan added that all
Ekiti sons and daughters must work together to take the state to
higher heights.
Responding, Governor Fayose thanked members of the council for their kind words about his administration.
” I thank you for your kind comments and views about our government. When we are doing well, commend us and when we need to be corrected, also do the correction in love. I will read your
paper and take note of your observations. No one has monopoly of
knowledge and wisdom.
“I have called members of the National Assembly from the state and raised some issues with them. I know they are not relenting and are poised to give the best to our people. The management
of the state and her resources is not all about the governor alone.The success of any governor depends on a number of issues and as a leader, I am open to ideas and suggestions that will move
the state forward,” he said.
